The names of the reindeer are first reference in a poem back in 1823, A Visit from Saint Nicholas or most commonly known as Twas the Night before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore who referred to the eight tiny reindeer.
Now Dasher! Now Dancer! Now Prancer and Vixen!
On Comet! On Cupid! On Donder and Blixem!
Rudolph was referenced later and became famous due to being mentioned in the 1949 musical hit Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

01. Dasher.

The fastest reindeer of Santa, Dasher originally came from the German word ,Dascher, which means purse maker.

02. Prancer.

Prancer is the most loyal reindeer and is often found in the factory with the elves prancing around with them.

03. Vixen.

Vixen is quite cheeky and he likes to play tricks on other reindeer.

04. Comet.

Comet is an easy going reindeer that all the children look up. He also has many words of wisdom, inspiring children to be on their best behaviour.

05. Cupid.

Cupid is the affectionate reindeer who often carries mistletoe and loves singing. Cupid has a sweet tooth and mince pies are her favourite so make sure you leave them out on Christmas Eve.

06. Donner.

Originating from the Dutch word for thunder and Donner has a deep booming voice. Donner is the twin of Blitzen.

07. Blitzen.

From the Dutch word for lightning and Blitzen is fast. Blitzen is the twin of Donner.

08. Rudolph.

The guiding light of Santa, Rudolph is a shy reindeer and at first was very self-conscious about himself and his red nose which many used to make fun of, he can though light up dark spots in order to find his friends.
