The Corporal Works of Mercy - List

Six of the seven works of mercy are listed in the Biblical parable of the Sheep and the Goats (Matthew 25 v.31:46), see link below.
Burying the dead, was added later by the medieval French theologian, Peter Comestor (died 1178) who added the work based on many references of this work and deed from many other places such as Tobit, St. Dismas, St. Sebastian, St. Joseph of Arimathea and St. Gregory the Great.
Pope Francais also proposed adding an eighth work of, Care for our common home, based on gestures for preventing violence, exploitation and selfishness.
According to the texts, those who have done these good deeds will go to Heaven, those who have failed to do them may not. The Seven Corporal Works of Mercy should not be confused with the Seven Virtues (Faith, Hope, Charity, Fortitude, Temperance, Justice and Prudence) the seven virtues are abstract qualities, while the Works, as their name suggests, are things one should be active with.
They are also not to be confused with the seven spiritual virtues which (See link below for more).
They are indeed charitable actions by which we help our neighbours in their bodily needs.
