There are three virtues of faith, hope, and charity whose definition are integral to modern Catholic theology.
The three virtues.
The three virtues are listed in the bible in the book of Corinthians 1 and verse 13, they were written by the Apostle Paul. The definitions of the three virtues were further explained by the philosopher Thomas Aquinas in the medieval period, where Aquinas defined faith, hope, and charity as theological virtues that define the ideal relationship to God for mankind. The meanings set forth by Thomas Aquinas in the 13th century are the definitions of faith, hope, and charity that are still integral to modern Catholic theology today.
The Three Virtues
01. Faith.
Faith is trust. Faith is always open to new things because if you have faith you are a trusting person. A person of faith believes Faith is a way of living. We are called not only to keep this faith but to live a faithful life filled with hope and love.
02. Hope.
When life gets hard don't give up but you carry on hoping that things will get better, dream of a better world or something better that will come in the future. Hope drives out selfishness and boredom and encourages you to engage with your community and do good works.
03. Charity or Love
Charity extends to all, without distinction of race, creed, or social condition, it looks for neither gain nor gratitude. Expression of daily charity or love will result in happiness.
