Mothering Sunday, sometimes known as Mothers Day, is held on the fourth Sunday of Lent. Mothers day is exactly three weeks before Easter Sunday.

As it is linked to Easter, mothers day does not have a set date and it usually falls in the second half of March or early April. Mothers day is a celebration of ones mother, grandmother or step mum, motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of all mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, and most commonly in the months of March or May.
The usual celebrations of mothers day involve visiting mothers at home, or meeting up for a treat. Mothers Day cards and flowers such as lilies and roses are the most popular gifts for this day.
